Reservations

Check-In & Check-Out
Check-in: From 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM | Check-out: By 11:00 AM
If you’d like to arrive early or a bit later, just let us know in advance. While we can’t always promise an early check-in, we can promise a warm welcome when you get here.
breakfast
A from-scratch, plated breakfast is included with every stay and served in our dining room from 8:30 to 9:30 AM. We're happy to accommodate dietary restrictions and allergies with advance notice-just let us know when booking.
Minimum Stay
From May 1 through December 31, most stays require a two-night minimum. If you spot a single night available on our calendar, it's yours for the taking or give us a call a few days ahead and we'll see what we can do.
rates & Payment
Payment is taken in full at the time of booking. We accept all major credit cards through our secure online system. Rates are based on double occupancy and may vary during holidays, special events, or peak seasons-but once you've booked, your rate is locked in and guaranteed.
Cancellations
We understand that plans can change. Here's how we handle cancellations:
- 15+ days before arrival: Full refund minus a $35 processing fee or a travel credit valid for one year from the original reservation date.
- 14 days to 48 hours before 4:00 PM arrival: No refund, but a travel credit valid for one year from the original reservation date.
- Less than 48 hours before 4:00 PM arrival or no-show: No refund or travel credit can be provided.
Entire-Inn bookings:
- More than 30 days prior to arrival: Cancellations permitted with a $35 processing fee per room; changes subject to availability.
- Within 30 days of arrival: Reservations are non-refundable, non-changeable, and not eligible for travel credit.
As a small Inn, each cancellation has a real impact. Weather, travel delays, or illness (including COVID-19) do not alter this policy. If your plans may shift, we strongly recommend purchasing travel insurance for peace of mind.
Children
To maintain a serene and relaxing environment, we welcome guests 14 years and older.
PETS
A well-mannered dog is welcome in our Cottage only. To keep tails wagging and stays stress-free:
- Your dog must be friendly with other dogs and fully vaccinated.
- The Cottage’s private entrance allows easy outdoor access without crossing shared guest spaces.
- Please bring your dog's bedding, food, and essentials.
- Your dog is not permitted elsewhere in the main house.
- Your dog must be leashed outdoors and may not be left unattended in the Loft.
Our insurer does impose breed restrictions; please check with us before booking. We don't publish a list because we believe all dogs deserve fairness and we're not keen on feeding another algorithm questionable data.
A one-time $30 cleaning fee per stay applies.
Smoking, Vaping & Cannabis
Smoking and vaping (including e-cigarettes) are not permitted indoors. Designated outdoor areas are available.
Cannabis use is not permitted anywhere on the property. While legal in Illinois, state law restricts consumption near anyone under 21. Because we welcome guests aged 14 and older, allowing cannabis would pose a legal and safety risk-which we prefer to avoid altogether.
Quiet Hours
For everyone's comfort, quiet hours are observed from 10:00 PM to 7:00 AM.
Accessibility
Our 1800s home was built long before elevators were common. All guest suites require stairs. If mobility is a concern, please contact us before booking-we're happy to help you choose the best option.
parking
Complimentary on-site parking is available for registered guests. Once you arrive, you’re welcome to leave the car behind—downtown Galena is just a short walk away.
While we’re in a quiet, residential area, vehicles and their contents are parked at the owner’s risk. We recommend locking your car and not leaving valuables inside.
Housekeeping
For multi-night stays, housekeeping service is provided on a limited, by-request basis to respect guest privacy. Fresh towels or amenities are always available. Just ask.
Damage, Loss & Lost Items
Guests are responsible for any damage or missing items during their stay. Related charges will be applied to the card on file. Items left behind are held for a limited time; we're happy to assist with retrieval when possible.
